Цель урока: развитие навыков монологической речи по теме Лондон, обобщить и систематизировать материал по теме, познакомить учащихся с достопримечательностями Лондона.
Задачи урока:
обучающая – развивать языковые навыки, технические навыки аудирования и чтения, воспроизводить по образцу короткие высказывания, узнавать по фотографиям основные достопримечательности Лондона;
развивающая - развитие познавательного интереса, эмоциональной сферы личности учащегося, его творческих и интеллектуальных способностей, готовности к коммуникации, формирование логического мышления;
воспитывающая - способствовать воспитанию у школьников положительного отношения к школе, формирование потребности и способности к сотрудничеству и взаимопомощи при работе в паре и группе.

Ход урока
1. Приветствие. Введение темы урока
T: Good morning dear pupils. Nice to see you
St: Nice to see you too.
T: We’re going to have a very interesting lesson. Look at the board. (слайд c видеофрагментом, погружающий учащихся в тему урока и создающий познавательную активность). Everybody loves travelling and we too, of course. And today we are going to have a trip around the most famous sights in London. So the topic of our lesson is London.
2. Повторение лексики.
T: Before travelling around the city let’s revise which words can help us to understand each other. I will read you definitions of the words and your task is to name the words. (слайды 2,3)
3. Введение нового материала с помощью чтения текста.
T: You know a lot of words but what do you know about London? Let’s read the text and review our knowledges. (книга с темами, учащиеся читают по очереди вслух).
T: I think your reading was excellent and the text wasn’t very hard to understand. Let’s check it by answering the questions (слайды 4,5).
4. Проверка домашнего задания.
T: Now you are ready to begin our trip. Тhere are a lot of means of travelling. People can travel by car, by bus, by plane, by train or on foot. Let’s think what the best way of travelling around London is. I know that you travel a lot. Your home task was to make up dialogues about different means of travelling. Let’s listen to the dialogues and find out how we can travel around London.
T: Thank you very much. You see that the best way to travel around London is by a double-decker bus. (cлайд с картой Лондона и автобусом).
But we can’t travel without a guide. So we have the guides that can help us during today’s excursion. (Раздаю путеводители ученикам)
5. Tower Bridge.
T: We go to the first place of our trip. (слайд с фотографией)
What is it? Do you know? Right you are. It’s the Tower Bridge. T: I want you to use the guides and answer some questions about it.
St: It’s Giant.
St: It was built in 1894.
St: It opens when the ships want to pass.
St: It has two high towers.
5. Big Ben and the Houses and Parliament (слайд с фотографией)
T: The most famous sights in London are Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament and you’ve seen them from the London Eye. Our bus is driving us there. Here we will make a stop. You are going to do a task to refresh some interesting facts. (Слайд с заданием вставить слова в предложения)

5. Buckingham Palace (слайд с фотографией)
T: The next place of our tour is Buckingham Palace. What do you know about this Palace?
St: It’s the Queen’s House
T: You’re right. It’s a Queen’s House. Let’s use our guides and read some facts about Buckingham Palace.
6. Westminster Abbey (слайд с фотографией)
T: We are coming up to the next historical place. What is it?
St: Westminster Abbey.
T: Right you are. It’s Westminster Abbey. What do you know about it? : I want you to use the guides and answer some questions about it.
St: It’s a Royal Church.
St: It is in the historic part of London – Westminster.
St: It was built in 11th century.
St: Kings and Queens merry and crown in Westminster Abbey.
7. National Gallery and Trafalgar Square
T: We have already read the text about London so you know what is the main square of London.?
St: Trafalgar Square.
T: Well done. Let’s watch at the picture and speak about it. What is there in the middle of the square?
St: Admiral Nelson’s Column.
T: What can we see behind it?
St: National Gallery.
T: What do you think we can find in there?
St: Paintings, sculptures …
T: Right you are. In the middle of Trafalgar Square is Nelson’s column. There are a lot of pigeons which popular with the tourists. There are two fountains in the centre of square and National Gallery on the North Side and a White Hall in the South. A Christmas tree is on the square every year. National Gallery is on the North Side of the Trafalgar Square. It is the house of thousands famous pictures. It is started when King George IV urged the government a collection of 38 paintings.
8. Tower of London.
T: We are coming up to the next historical place. It’s the Tower of London. While watching a video about this place, you have to do a task. (Раздаю задания)
Watch and listen. After that be ready to do the task. (Смотрят видео про Тауэр)

9. Монологические высказывания
T: Our tour is coming to an end. I want you to make up short stories about our trip. Think of a place you liked most and tell us some words about it. (я показываю пример, составив свой рассказ)

T: Now I want to review what have you known about London. Let’s complete a short test. (раздаю такие же тесты как на слайде. Работаем фронтально)
10. Заключение. Объяснение домашнего задания
T: Have you enjoyed our one day tour around London? Of course we haven’t visited some historical places but I’m sure we’ll do it next time. In the guides there are some questions. Let’s read them. Your home task will be to answer them and the next lesson we’ll discuss it.
